Adding & Removing
To begin:
1. Open the
FACE.dwg.
To attach an external reference
1 Do the following:
• Choose
Insert > Xref Manager.
2 Click Attach.
3 Specify the drawing file, you will have to click
browse, go to the desktop and select the (nose.dwg) to attach as an external reference,
and then click Open.
4 In Reference Type, choose how you want to insert
the drawing:
• Attachment –
inserts a copy of the drawing and includes any other drawings that are
externally referenced within the referenced drawing.
5 Make additional choices as shown above. Deselect specify on screen for insertion
point, scale and rotation.
6 Click OK.
Notice below: Reference Name is
“nose”, status shows loaded, type shows attached.
Now repeat steps 1-6 again for the eyes and mouth.
The Xref Manager should look like this: (Remember my saved path shows my computer, your saved path
should reference your computer)
Upon finishing you should have a drawing looking like
this:
7 Now let’s add some eyebrows. When finished, close drawing and save
changes.
Now let’s open the face drawing again. See below:
8 Now let’s detached the xreferences, go to •
Choose Insert > Xref Manager.
Highlight Eyes, then select detach,
Highlight Mouth, then select detach,
Highlight Nose, then select detach,
Select detach.
Your picture should look like this:
9 A face should appear with only your created
eyebrows, now erase the eyebrows, close drawing and save changes.
When you open the face drawing, it should look like the
first picture at the very top.
